Creating A Brand That Makes a KILLER First Impression

If you’ve been following along this month, you’ve already learned the importance of branding, and knowing your tribe! Once you’ve locked in on WHO you want to attract, it’s time to dig a little deeper and look at HOW you’re going to use your branding to attract them to you! (Instead of the other way around!)

We all know that your brand is so much more than a logo or colors!! Your brand is your VIBE, it who you tells your clients who you are. It needs to be effective and as close as possible to who you really are.  The best part of this is realizing that “Being Your Brand” is just as easy as being yourself!

But don’t get me wrong-- we are visual beings and first impressions count! Chances are, before your tribe reads a single word, they may have created an idea of who you are and what you’re about based just on what they SEE!

This means that the visual elements of your brand not only need to be aligned with your brand, they also need to be strong enough to stand on their own, and attract your dream tribe to you!

So what goes into a brand? What are the visual elements to consider?

 

1. Logo –

Your logo is a big deal. Take a second to think about your favorite brands! What instantly comes to mind? Chances are, one of the first things that comes to mind is their logo!

Your logo is YOURS! It’s one of the things that your identified by, sets you apart, and is unique to you!

So, what makes a good logo?

A logo should be simple, memorable, expressive, and aligned with you, and your brand’s overall “vibe”.

 

2. Colors –

Colors catch attention +  evoke emotions. Make sure that the colors you choose for your website, logo, and marketing materials are eye catching, irresistible to your tribe, and reflect the emotions you want your audience to feel!

 

3. Font –

The fonts you choose are important. They needs to be easy to read, and should also be eye catching, irresistible to your tribe, and consistent with your overall brand “vibe”!

 

4. Photos/images –

There are different photo and image styles to consider. For example, some businesses use illustrations for their images, while others are more stylish or traditional. Some focus on lifestyle images, while others are more corporate! Just like everything else in your branding visuals, they should be eye catching, irresistible to your tribe, and consistent with your overall brand “vibe”!

 

Let's also take a second to talk about the power of killer consistency! If there's one thing we know, it's that confused customers do not buy!

Your tribe needs to feel confident that they know who you are, what you're all about, and that they can more than trust you! At the end of the day your customers are buying more than your products or services… they are also buying YOU!

One way to infuse your branding into everything you do in a consistent way is to start by making a list of 3 words that best represent your brand.  (Try to stay away from common words like “awesome” and “great”. ) You are unique and so is your brand, dig deep to find those words that set your brand apart from the awesome’s and the great’s. (If you're struggling or feeling stuck finding your three words, why not have a little fun with it?! Ask your tribe via social media what three words some to mind when they think of you!)

Once you've got your three words--memorize them! Keep them in mind whenever you do anything related to your business! From your business cards to your Facebook posts, to your emails-- make sure you're incorporating more than just your visual branding! Be sure everything aligns with your three words!

If you do this effectively, and consistently your tribe will soon start recognizing your brand and be hooked!

You will also start to attract new members to your tribe in powerful ways! [To keep them hooked, blow their minds with killer, helpful, actionable content!]
